July Meeting
What a great June meeting we had. We all learned how to live healthier, how to prepare for high water and any potential outbreak of E. coli in public health. It is rumored that probably one of the best ways to prevent E. coli is by simply not drinking Guadalupe river water during a flood. Smile. Anyhooo - Angela Deleon did a wonderful job and passed out several plastic home kits for us old folks to keep our records in for quick recovery if we ever need them.
How about that Bingo. I think the games were rigged as all the winners were over the age of 45. I think I saw Bill Moltz with a few cards up his sleeve. Fun was had by all and some wonderful monetary awards given out.
Our Verein is donating $300 to Cross Lutheran. We appreciate their support of our German classes and certainly want to help fund our expenses there. The church is a wonderful location for what we do and hope to continue a long realtionship with them.
July 4th parade is upon us. Eberhart thought that we should use this short parade to walk off our winter fat, so we will walk the 3 blocks with a banner proudly showing off our German Club and heritage. We Germans love America and the freedoms we have and support. Look for Eberhart's article for time and place to meet. Thank you Eberhart for your work.
Wursfest is looming. Can you believe 5 months away? Mary learned from Santa how to make her gift list, and we are all getting inventory together and ordering supplies. Contracts are being signed and Eberhart is getting his back in shape with an electric prod to keep all us workers in line. What a great time of year and look forward to all the participation and fellowship of the club.
We are all looking forward to our July meeting. For all new comers, our July meeting will be held at the Elks Club, located on Seguin St. across from the Chamber of Commerce/Civic Center. The meeting room will open at 6:00 PM for some friendly refreshments and fellowship. The meeting will start at 7:00.
See you Tuesday evening. Again, thanks to Tom for this newsletter, and all the Executive Board for their commitment and hard work. . Appreciate your hard work. Chris

Spaßzeit für alle!
(Fun Time for All!)
Our June entertainment started on a serious note with Nancy DeLeon presenting a program on emergency preparedness and what to do in case of a disaster. Hopefully we won't have need for any of the preparations that we were told about, but it never hurts to be ready.

Afterward, we had a rousing game of card bingo where some of our members went home with a little extra gold in their pockets.
The July meeting's entertainment should be fun. Mr. Rob Carter will be performing various kinds of music for our listening and dancing pleasure. I have been told that Rob is a very accomplished musician and does an awesome job entertaining his audiences. You won't want to miss this, so bring your dancing shoes and join us at the July meeting!

Children’s German Summer Camp
Once again our club will sponsor a children's German language summer camp that will continue for two weeks at the CONSERVATION PLAZA in Forke's Store. Our camp will begin on June 13 and end on June 24. The class for beginners will be from 9:00-12:00 and the class for children with some knowledge of German will be from 1:00-4:00. This camp has been very successful in the past with classes filling up rather quickly, so if you have children or grandchildren who are interested, please call 660 0437 or 620 0369 soon for more information.
